Barefoot Boogie is moving! Opening night party 2/19

Barefoot Boogie is moving! We've got a new space with a lot of great features and we're hoping you'll come check it out. We're having an opening night party on 2/19 with performances as well as our usual dancing madness.

The new location is 32 Otis Street, SF, but the entrance is around the corner. Check the Boogie website (sfbarefootboogie.com) for details. Boogie will be happening every Wednesday and Sunday until then as well as after the move...still going strong after 23 years!

what kind of dancing do y'all do? I'm mainly one of those freestyle folks who doesn't like the club scene, and I've studied lots of African dance, and I've recently gotten into waltzing! I can't stand being around smoke and alcohol and I'm not much of a late-night person but I'd rather dance than do almost anything else, so I'm always looking for recommendations of good places to go. Let me know about your favorites!

After a brief hiatus, Red Melon Records is back in action on the party front. Friday, March 19 2004 will bring you a new venue to enjoy the return of the label's famed MELON party.

The first event will be a special $5 night at San Francisco's newest venue, Mighty, located at 119 Utah St at 15th Street. Mighty is a beautiful renovated wareouse with a touch of technology and art and the massive sound system that made Club Townsend a San Francisco favorite.

Starting at 10pm with SF deckster Eli Bingham, 11pm to 2am with Red Melon melody makers Dano and JZ, and 2am to 4am with Mighty's own resident DJ Manny Ward from Twisted-NYC. This night will be a harbinger of Red Melon's slew of events coming to you this spring. Stay tuned!
